An intersting thing happened...

Big brother is watching us all.

Today I needed to scan a $20 bill to use in a commission. But I discovered that my scanner will not scan money. Apparently there is some little program embedded into the software that prevents it.

I just hope that the next time Microsoft reports on my computer contents (and we all know that every little thing we install now has spyware in it) I don't get put on some FBI Watch List.

Honestly, Officer, I was just trying to draw a logo!

Bye!

That's quite brilliant really. I guess there are so many little quirks and tricks embedded in banknotes to make them recognisable that it wouldn't be all that hard to do.

Find a fake $20 bill? :D

Actually, I was bad. I found a deviation that had digitally altered a $100 bill, copied it, and used it as a template to make a sort of avatar for money. Just a few lines and shapes and text, with Benjamin's picture thrown in for good measure. My client didn't like the version of the logo with the money in it, so I don't have to worry about it ever again.

I still wonder about the FBI thing, though.

I don't remember the green worm avatar. Is he new? Or am I just having a senior moment? Very cute, and a bit silly. I like it.

Take care.

The green worm is new, yes. A while back I posted this, which I don't think anyone remembers but which I did when dA attempted to upgrade to this version before the bugs were ironed out... they made the place almost unbrowsable for a while. The sad thing is they still haven't ironed them all out, and they keep loading new features before they've fixed the old ones... thus creating more bugs.

So it kind of has a point as well as being cute. I liked the pirates but one of the self refreshing adverts interrupted me one time too many the other day, so I thought it was time for something new.

I did not know that. I have tried to scan money before for projects and nothing. It was to add faces to the bills or fooling around and such. But there is plenty of images out there of $100 bills out there. You can even photo one if you like. Not sure on the laws surrounding it though. As long as you are not counterfeiting, I think you are ok.
